Guidance
Use sentence case for all headings — capitalize only the first word and proper nouns. Use active, imperative verbs in task headings, not gerunds. Don't end headings with a period.
Examples
Do:
Set up a virtual server
Configure rate limiting for your application
BIG-IP Next architecture overview
Don't:
Setting Up A Virtual Server
Configuring Rate Limiting For Your Application
Set up a virtual server.
Notes
Use imperative verb forms for task headings ("Set up", "Configure", "Add") and noun phrases for concept or reference headings ("BIG-IP Next architecture overview", "System requirements").
Do not use gerunds in headings: "Configuring the system" should be "Configure the system."
Heading text must not contain a link to another page.
Avoid numerals and ampersands in headings unless space is critical.
