IronClaw Individual Contributor License Agreement (CLA)

Thank you for your interest in contributing to IronClaw, a project of IronSecCo ("the Project", "we", "us"). This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") documents the rights you grant to us for your Contributions. It is for your protection as a Contributor as well as the protection of the Project and its users; it does not change your right to use your own Contributions for any other purpose.

By making a Contribution to the Project (for example, by opening a pull request) and confirming your acceptance through the CLA Assistant bot, you accept and agree to the following terms for your present and future Contributions submitted to the Project.

1. Definitions

• "You" (or "Your") means the individual who submits a Contribution, or the legal entity authorized by that individual.
• "Contribution" means any original work of authorship, including any modifications or additions to an existing work, that You intentionally submit to the Project for inclusion in, or documentation of, any of the products it owns or manages. "Submitted" means any form of electronic, verbal, or written communication sent to the Project — including pull requests, issues, code, comments, and documentation — but excluding communication conspicuously marked, or otherwise designated in writing by You, as "Not a Contribution."

2. Copyright license

You retain ownership of the copyright in Your Contribution. Subject to this Agreement, You hereby grant to IronSecCo and to recipients of software distributed by the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable copyright license to reproduce, prepare derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform, sublicense, and distribute Your Contribution and such derivative works.

You further agree that IronSecCo may license Your Contribution under any license terms, including the GNU AGPLv3, any other open-source license, and proprietary or commercial license terms (the Project's dual-licensing model, see LICENSING.md). This relicensing right is what allows the Project to be offered both as open source and under a commercial license.

3. Patent license

You grant to IronSecCo and to recipients of software distributed by the Project a perpetual, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, irrevocable (except as stated in this section) patent license to make, have made, use, offer to sell, sell, import, and otherwise transfer Your Contribution. This license applies only to those patent claims licensable by You that are necessarily infringed by Your Contribution alone or by the combination of Your Contribution with the work to which it was submitted. If any entity institutes patent litigation alleging that Your Contribution, or the work to which You contributed, constitutes direct or contributory patent infringement, then any patent licenses granted under this Agreement for that Contribution or work terminate as of the date such litigation is filed.

4. Your representations

You represent that:

• You are legally entitled to grant the above licenses.
• Each of Your Contributions is Your original creation (or You have the rights to submit it under this Agreement).
• If Your employer(s) has rights to intellectual property You create, You have received permission to make the Contributions on behalf of that employer, or that employer has waived such rights for Your Contributions to the Project.
• To the best of Your knowledge, Your Contribution does not violate any third party's copyrights, trademarks, patents, or other intellectual property rights.

5. Third-party works

If You wish to submit work that is not Your original creation, You may submit it separately, clearly identifying the source and any license or other restriction of which You are personally aware, and conspicuously marking the work as "Submitted on behalf of a third party: [name]".

6. No obligation; "AS IS"

You are not expected to provide support for Your Contributions, except to the extent You desire to do so. Your Contributions are provided "AS IS", without warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including any warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Notice

You agree to notify the Project of any facts or circumstances of which You become aware that would make these representations inaccurate in any respect.

Commenting on the pull request does not sign the CLA. Some projects accept a "I have read the CLA Document and I hereby sign the CLA" comment. We do not.
