Code of Conduct

Our pledge

We want universal-mcp-toolkit to be a welcoming, safe, and constructive project for everyone who participates.

Contributors, maintainers, and community members are expected to treat one another with respect regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity or orientation.

Expected behavior

• Be respectful, patient, and generous in technical discussion.
• Assume good intent, but stay open to correction.
• Give feedback that is specific, actionable, and kind.
• Focus on the problem, not the person.
• Take responsibility when you make a mistake and help repair the impact.
• Leave room for contributors with different backgrounds, communication styles, and experience levels.

Unacceptable behavior

• Harassment, intimidation, stalking, or deliberate intimidation.
• Discriminatory remarks, slurs, or exclusionary jokes.
• Personal attacks, insults, or repeated bad-faith provocation.
• Sexualized language, imagery, or unwelcome sexual attention.
• Publishing or threatening to publish private information without permission.
• Deliberately derailing discussions, dogpiling, or disrupting collaboration.
• Any other behavior that would make a reasonable person feel unsafe, unwelcome, or unable to participate productively.

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies in all project spaces, including issues, pull requests, discussions, reviews, commits, release notes, and any other public or private communication where someone is representing or participating in the universal-mcp-toolkit community.

Reporting

If you experience or witness behavior that violates this Code of Conduct, please report it to the project maintainer privately through the contact options on the repository owner's GitHub profile:

When possible, include links, screenshots, timestamps, and any context that will help with a fair review.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.

Enforcement

The project maintainer may take any action considered appropriate to protect the community, including:

• requesting a change in behavior
• removing or editing harmful content
• temporarily locking discussions
• rejecting contributions
• suspending participation for a period of time
• permanently banning someone from project spaces

Reports will be reviewed as promptly and fairly as possible. The maintainer will make a good-faith effort to protect reporter privacy, sharing details only when needed to investigate, respond, or comply with legal obligations.

Enforcement guidelines

The response will depend on the context and severity of the behavior. Typical escalation may include:

1. Correction

For low-impact behavior, the maintainer may provide a private or public correction and explain what needs to change.

2. Warning

For repeated or more serious behavior, the maintainer may issue a formal warning with clear expectations for future participation.

3. Temporary suspension

For sustained disruption or hostile conduct, the maintainer may suspend a person from participating in project spaces for a defined period.

4. Permanent removal

For severe harassment, threats, discrimination, doxxing, or repeated refusal to follow community standards, the maintainer may permanently remove access to the project community.

• respectful in disagreement
• practical, honest, and curious

This Code of Conduct is informed by widely used open-source community standards, including the Contributor Covenant, and adapted for the needs of this repository.
