Code of conduct

Umbra is committed to a respectful, technically rigorous, and welcoming community.

Participants must be considerate, assume good faith while examining claims critically, respect privacy and boundaries, and give actionable feedback about the work rather than the person. Harassment, discrimination, threats, deliberate intimidation, sexualized attention, doxxing, sustained disruption, and retaliation are not acceptable in project spaces or when representing the project.

Maintainers may edit or remove content, reject contributions, issue warnings, temporarily restrict participation, or permanently ban a participant when needed to protect the community. Enforcement decisions should be proportionate, documented privately, and avoid disclosing a reporter's identity beyond those who need it.

Report an incident privately through the contact method in the repository's Security tab and state that it is a code-of-conduct report. Do not put sensitive conduct reports in public issues. Maintainers will acknowledge reports on a best-effort basis and will communicate next steps when it is safe to do so.

This policy applies to repository discussions, reviews, issues, project chat, events, and other spaces where someone is acting as a project representative.
