The Eurobox System
July 18, 2026 · View on GitHub

A printable wall reference for the Eurobox / Euro-container system: the 600 × 400 mm module and its subdivided footprints, the ladder of standard heights with gross volumes, and how the boxes roll up into Euro pallet loads and 20-ft container (TEU) loads. Companion piece to the Incoterms 2020 poster — same sizes, same stack, same design language. All sizes are landscape and print-ready.

- PDF — digital print file: RGB, embedded fonts, 5 mm bleed and crop marks.
- PNG — trim-only raster at 96 dpi, good for screens or casual printing.
- Press-ready PDF — PDF/X-1a, CMYK, fonts outlined; hand this to a print shop.
What's on it
- One module, four footprints — the 600 × 400 mm module and its straight subdivisions (400 × 300, 300 × 200, 200 × 150), shown tiling a Euro pallet deck four different ways.
- Standard heights & volumes — the 600 × 400 footprint in its standard heights (75–420 mm) with gross external volume for each.
- The Euro pallet — EUR/EPAL 1 (1200 × 800 × 144 mm): 4 boxes per layer, with stack diagrams for the 220 mm and 320 mm workhorse heights to a 2.0 m load height.
- From one box to a container load — box → layer → pallet → TEU, with an 11-pallet 20-ft floor plan (one loaded pallet ≈ 1/11 ≈ 9% of a TEU).
Figures and the underlying arithmetic are collected in

Stack
Built entirely from HTML/CSS — no design tools. A single master template
(src/poster.html) is rendered to PDF at each size with
Vivliostyle CLI (CSS Paged Media) driving a local
Chrome/Chromium; Ghostscript produces the press-ready variants and Poppler
(pdftoppm) rasterizes the PNGs. All graphics (the isometric box, pallet
diagrams, TEU floor plan) are hand-drawn inline SVG and CSS. Typeface is IBM
Plex Sans (+ Condensed), vendored under the SIL OFL 1.1. Designed with
Claude Code.
