Understanding the component parts, aka assets, for your organization is essential in protecting and keeping them safe from abuse. Every organization has a different set of assets which means targets and attacks will vary. This section provides a taxonomy for asset identification and establishes a framework for modelers to enumerate their assets to leverage the rest of the attack map process.
