Tags

Tags are short, colored labels you create once and then attach to characters, personas, lorebooks, and chats so related content is easier to find later.

Overview

A tag is just a name (e.g. "villain", "sci-fi", "in-progress") with an optional description and a color. Tags belong to your account and are shared across the whole app — the same tag can be attached to any number of characters, personas, lorebooks, and chats. You manage the master list of tags from the Tags panel, and you attach or remove tags directly on the item you're editing (a character's form, a persona's form, and so on).

Opening the Tags Panel

The Tags panel is opened from the Tags icon (a tag/label icon) in the app's side navigation, alongside the icons for Personas, Characters, Lorebooks, and Chats. On mobile layouts the same panel is reachable from the mobile navigation bar under "Tags". The panel opens showing every tag you've created as a row of colored chips, with a search box above them for filtering the list by tag name or description.

Creating a Tag

Inside the Tags panel, click the small + button at the top to open the "Create New Tag" form. The form has three fields:

• Name — required; tag creation is blocked until a name is entered.
• Description (Optional) — free text shown when you later select the tag.
• Color Preset — a dropdown of color options (see below), with a live chip preview showing exactly how the tag will look.

Click Create Tag to save it, or Cancel to discard the form. A "Tag Created" confirmation appears once it's saved.

Tag Colors

Each tag is rendered as a colored chip using one of 21 built-in color presets: seven color families (Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, Success, Warning, Error, Surface), each available in three styles — Filled, Tonal, and Outlined. Pick one from the Color Preset dropdown when creating or editing a tag; the chip preview next to the dropdown updates immediately so you can see the result before saving.

Viewing and Editing a Tag

Click any tag chip in the Tags panel to open its detail view. This shows:

• The tag's name and, if set, its description in a bordered panel.
• A Characters section listing every character carrying that tag.
• A Personas section listing every persona carrying that tag.
• A Lorebooks section listing every lorebook carrying that tag.

Each listed item can be clicked to jump to it, and has its own edit button to open that item directly for editing. From the tag detail view you can also click the pencil ("Edit Tag") button to edit the tag's name, description, and color, or the trash ("Delete Tag") button to remove it.

Deleting a Tag

Clicking Delete Tag opens a confirmation dialog: "Are you sure you want to delete the tag '<name>'? This action cannot be undone and will remove the tag from all associated items." Confirming permanently deletes the tag and removes it from every character, persona, and lorebook it was attached to — it does not delete those items themselves, only the tag association.

Assigning Tags to Characters, Personas, Lorebooks, and Chats

Tags aren't assigned from the Tags panel itself — you attach them from the Tags field inside the form for the item you're editing:

• The character form's Tags field (also available in the character creation/edit view).
• The persona form's Tags field.
• The lorebook form's Tags field.
• The chat edit form's Tags field.

In each case, typing in the Tags field shows a dropdown of your existing tags that match what you've typed, along with each tag's color and description for context. Click a suggestion to attach it, or press Enter with a new name to attach a brand-new tag (it's created automatically the first time you use it, so you don't need to pre-create tags in the Tags panel). Attached tags appear underneath the field as colored chips; click a chip (or its remove button) to detach that tag before saving the form. Tag changes take effect when you save the character, persona, lorebook, or chat.

Finding Tagged Items

There's no separate tag-filter control — instead, the search boxes on the Characters, Personas, and Chats sidebars match against tag names in addition to names and descriptions. Typing a tag name (e.g. "villain") into a sidebar's search field will surface any character, persona, or chat carrying a tag whose name contains that text. To see everything tagged with a specific tag at a glance, open that tag from the Tags panel instead and review its Characters, Personas, and Lorebooks sections directly.
