Code of Conduct

AI Shortlink welcomes people who want to improve dependable, self-hosted link infrastructure. Participation in Issues, pull requests, reviews, and other project spaces is expected to remain professional and constructive.

Our standards

Positive behavior includes:

• Discussing user impact, evidence, tradeoffs, and code with clarity.
• Respecting different levels of experience, languages, identities, and viewpoints.
• Giving specific feedback and allowing others to revise their work.
• Acknowledging mistakes, correcting them, and sharing relevant context.
• Protecting private data and reporting sensitive security issues privately.

Unacceptable behavior includes:

• Harassment, discrimination, threats, sexualized attention, or personal attacks.
• Trolling, repeated disruption, deliberate misrepresentation, or bad-faith demands.
• Publishing another person's private information or project secrets.
• Using project spaces primarily for spam, unrelated promotion, or abusive link distribution.
• Retaliation against someone who reports a concern in good faith.

Scope

This policy applies in repository spaces and whenever someone represents the project in public or private community interactions.

Enforcement

Maintainers may edit or remove comments, commits, code, Issues, and other contributions that violate these standards. They may issue a warning, limit participation, or permanently ban an account depending on severity and history.

For an immediate public problem, use GitHub's report or block controls and notify a maintainer without reposting harmful content. For a sensitive concern, contact a maintainer through an available private channel and keep identifying evidence out of public Issues. Security vulnerabilities must follow SECURITY.md.

Enforcement decisions should be proportionate, documented privately where appropriate, and made without retaliation. Maintainers who are directly involved in a complaint should step back from the decision when another maintainer is available.
