Contribution Guidelines

Adding a New Entry

  1. Add your changes to the [Unreleased] section at the top of the changelog
  2. Follow the existing format and categorization
  3. Include issue/PR numbers when applicable (e.g., #123)
  4. Use clear, concise descriptions in the imperative mood (e.g., "Add" not "Added")
  5. Group related changes together under appropriate categories
  6. Keep the changelog entries focused on what changed from the user's perspective

Release Process

  1. Update the [Unreleased] section with all changes since the last release
  2. Update the version in package.json using npm version [major|minor|patch]
  3. Create a new version section in the changelog with the new version number and today's date
  4. Create a git tag with the version number (e.g., v1.2.3)
  5. Push the changes and the tag to trigger the release workflow
