Note
Azure Linux 4.0 is currently in Preview. We currently recommend it for evaluation and testing only, with broader production support on the roadmap as we continue towards General Availability (GA). Production issue support isn't available for 4.0 during this phase. Your feedback during this phase is welcome and helps shape the product, so please share it through GitHub issues and GitHub Discussions.
Bugs, docs, and feature requests
Use GitHub issues to report bugs, documentation problems, and feature requests. Pick the matching template when you open an issue. For guidance, see how to report issues.
For general questions and feedback, use GitHub Discussions. See CONTRIBUTING.md for contribution guidelines.
Production support
Note
Azure Linux 4.0 isn't generally available (GA) yet.
If you're running a GA version of Azure Linux in production on Azure and you hit an outage, regression, or configuration problem, open an Azure support request through the Azure portal.
Important
Azure Linux is open source, but Microsoft support and lifecycle commitments apply only to Azure scenarios. Specifically:
- Azure Linux VM/VMSS, AKS container host, and container images are supported.
- Bare metal, ISO images, on-premises, and other clouds aren't supported.
- Customized images are supported only when built on top of a prebuilt Azure Linux image (for example, with Image Customizer). Images built from scratch from the Azure Linux sources on GitHub aren't covered.
Use Azure Support for production issues such as:
- Package management and repository issues affecting a running workload.
- System configuration and lifecycle management on production hosts.
- Security baseline guidance for a deployed environment.
- Image and deployment troubleshooting in production.
