You do not need organization membership to contribute.

  • Questions and ideas: Discussions.
  • Defined work: issues labeled good first issue or help wanted.
  • Code/docs: pull requests in the relevant project.
  • Community decisions: Community Proposal form.
  • Upstream breakage: Compatibility Report form.
  • Sensitive matters: private routes in SECURITY.md or CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md.

Claiming work

Comment /claim; a claim normally lasts seven days. Post an update to extend it or /unclaim to release it. Inactivity is not punished, but maintainers may release an inactive claim.

Actionable issues should state the problem, acceptance criteria, affected project/files, difficulty, contact, and known safety or compatibility considerations.

Pull requests

Keep a PR focused, explain impact and validation, and link the issue or proposal. Project maintainers own technical decisions in their repositories; cross-project policy also links a community proposal.

AI assistance is welcome when contributors review the result, follow licenses, disclose material use when provenance/review is affected, and remain responsible. Never include secrets, private data, or unlicensed material.

Access and language

Access follows responsibility, not status. Trial advancement uses public contribution evidence, one non-conflicted sponsor, least privilege, and a 90-day review.

English is the default documentation language. Simplified Chinese lives in separate .zh-CN.md files; do not mix both languages in one document. High-impact documents maintain both versions. Material translation differences pause the decision until reconciled; neither version silently overrides the other during the trial.
