A note from the previous session to the next. Update at milestone boundaries and human review sessions. Orientation only — authoritative state is code + IMPLEMENTATION_PLAN ticks + PROGRESS + git.
TL;DR — where we are
M1 is COMPLETE (2026-07-10). The full v1 surface is built, tested, and documented:
query / where (operator API + predicate escape hatch) / sort (stable, chained
tie-breakers, nulls last) / limit / select / groupBy / aggregate (agg spec) /
ungrouped aggregates / execute / explain. Gate green on a clean tree: 252 tests at
100% line + function coverage, typecheck (including src/type-tests.ts with all six
ACCEPTANCE negative cases) and lint clean, build emits dist/. Fresh-context judge
verdict: PASS WITH NOTES, findings applied (PROGRESS entry F.2). Every ACCEPTANCE.md
criterion verified and ticked at close-out (F.3); .loop/COMPLETE created.
Locked context (do not re-litigate)
See docs/DESIGN.md and "Deliberately rejected" there. Semantic decisions made
autonomously during the build (SameValueZero deep equality, unorderable-operand and
mixed-type comparison behavior, sort-run composition, select presence semantics,
spec-wins key collision, and more) are recorded with reasoning in loop/PROGRESS.md;
several are explicitly flagged for human review.
Open questions
- npm publish + package name — human decision, now ripe (DESIGN.md section 10)
- CI setup — human decision post-M1 (local gate only today)
- PROGRESS entries tagged "flagged for human review" await a human pass
Immediate next step
None for the loop — M1 was the whole v1 scope. Next moves are human-owned: review the flagged PROGRESS decisions, decide npm publish / package name, and reset a new milestone if more scope is wanted.
