Contributing

These lists are editorial, which means they're opinionated and we'd rather know when our reads are wrong than pretend they're authoritative. Contributions welcome.

How to contribute

• Spotted a missing subreddit? Open an issue with a brief argument for inclusion: audience fit, current activity level, mod stance on promotion.
• Mod-rule change or removal-pattern update? Open an issue. We refresh quarterly but real-time corrections are appreciated.
• Famous incident we missed? Same as above. Documented incidents (with sources) make the list more useful.
• Editorial disagreement? Open an issue. We're happy to argue, especially when you have evidence we don't.

What we won't include

• NSFW subreddits.
• Mental-health crisis subs and chronic-illness diagnosis-support subs (ethical exclusion regardless of marketing utility).
• Non-English or location-specific subs (out of scope for these lists; warrant separate region-organized lists).
• Brand-fan subs as discovery channels for other brands.

Voice and style

• Match the editorial voice in existing entries: candid, slightly skeptical, operator-perspective, diagnostic rather than promotional.
• No em-dashes; use commas, periods, colons, or parentheses instead.
• No buzzwords ("game-changing," "revolutionary," "leverage," "synergy," "actionable insights").
• No emojis.
• Cite sources for any claim about specific incidents, removal rates, or named-marketer opinions.
• Per-sub editorial should be 100-180 words across "Why it matters" and "How to post here."
