When will the event take place?
The event will take place from November 13-20, 2020.
Is the workshop attendance mandatory?
No. The workshop is intended to introduce ML.NET to new users. If you already have experience with ML.NET, this may just be a refresher for you.
How do I sign up?
You can sign up by filling out the signup form.
How do I create a project?
Once you've signed up, you can create a project by submitting an issue to the repository.
Can I bring an existing project?
No. Only new projects started on November 13 will be considered for submission.
Do I need to be in a team?
The short answer is yes. Like most projects, the team is intended to bring together people that want to solve a similar problem. Although we encourage collaboration between participants, we're also happy to have teams of one person.
What types of projects can I work on?
Though this list is not exhaustive, it may provide some guidance:
- Contributions to the dotnet/machinelearning repository
- Build tooling for ML.NET
- End-user applications (train and deploy machine learning models)
- Other (trainings, videos, articles)

Do I have to use ML.NET?
Yes. Where you use ML.NET is your choice, but it is expected you use or extend ML.NET in your solution.
When are submissions due?
Submissions are due November 18, 2020 at 11:59 PM PDT
What do I need to submit?
- 1-3 minute video
- Source code.
The source code does not have to run in order to be submitted.
How do I submit?
In the GitHub issue for your project, provide the link to your video as well as source code.
Make sure that the video and source code are both publicly accessible.

What should I use to record the submission video?
We have no preference and you can use whatever software you feel most comfortable with. If you need suggestions, here is a list of them:
- PowerPoint Screen Recorder (Free)
- Quicktime (Mac) (Free)
- Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) (Free)
- Camtasia (Paid but with free trial)
- ScreenFlow (Mac) (Paid but with free trial)
No need to do any fancy editing. Just show off your project or contribution.
